Violent clashes break out at Al-Aqsa Mosque in Israel

There are reports of fresh clashes at Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque in Israel

It comes as the the Arab League calls on Israel to end Jewish prayers inside the compound itself.

The mosque is located in occupied East Jerusalem. But the regional organisation warns such actions are a blatant affront that could trigger a much wider conflict.

Social media has been flooded with disturbing scenes coming from outside the compound.

The League has previously said Israel has restricted Muslims in their right to worship.

Israeli riot police stormed the mosque compound last week, where over 150 Palestinians were allegedly wounded.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry however says the police were responding to Palestinians who were throwing Molotov cocktails inside.
