His on-the-ground reporting includes historic events such as the Boxing Day tsunami in Thailand, the London bombings, Black Saturday bushfires, and the Qantas grounding—coverage that earned a Logie Award nomination.
He was named Australian Broadcast Journalist of the Year in 2013. That same year, he reported from Afghanistan on the withdrawal of Australian troops from the region.
