Melbourne man arrested following bow and arrow incident in CBD

An Australian man has been arrested outside of Victoria’s parliament house while holding a bow and arrow

Police rushed to a vehicle where a man was standing on top of the roof holding the weapon.

A woman was pulled away from the scene, as police managed to disarm the man.

Authorities have confirmed an 18 year old man was arrested at the scene – he has been taken to hospital for assessment, under police guard.

There are no reports of injuries.

Onlookers were seen shouting at police as the man was taken away.

A police statement read “the man was arrested immediately without further incident and no one was injured,”

“He was taken to hospital for assessment.”

Police have confirmed the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated.
