Donald Trump in recent months has been telling confidants that he may launch his 2024 presidential campaign early, but he has electric competition

Elon Musk says he is leaning toward voting for Florida governor DeSantis for president in the 2024 election and predicted that a “red wave” is coming in 2022.

In response to a question from a popular Tesla fan account on Twitter, Musk says it remains to be determined whether he will vote for a Republican for president.

When asked who he is leaning toward, Musk replied, “DeSantis.”

DeSantis is a Republican and has not said he will run for president in two years time.

Former President Donald Trump is widely expected to run again.

When DeSantis was asked about Musk’s support as president he told reporters he welcomed it as well as support from African Americans.
