The Union of European Football Associations is placing further sanctions on Russian teams, amid the atrocities in Ukraine
UEFA has confirmed Russia will be barred from the Women’s Euro 2022 and all UEFA competitions next season.
Portugal who lost to Russia will now replace them at the Women’s Euro 2022, kicking off in July. This means Russia will not be able to qualify for next year’s women’s World Cup.
UEFA says the latest decisions are to “ensure their smooth staging in a safe and secure environment for all those concerned.”
he Governing body has also slammed Russia’s bid to host the men’s Euro 2028 or Euro 2032 tournaments, by officially deeming the country ineligible.
Russia will not participate in this summer's UEFA Women's EURO 2022.

Portugal, the opponent defeated by Russia in the qualifying play-offs, will now participate in Group C.
Additionally, Russian teams will not participate in UEFA club competitions next season.

The UEFA Executive Committee has today declared the bid submitted by the Football Union of Russia to host UEFA EURO 2028 or UEFA EURO 2032 as ineligible.

This is one of several decisions relating to the on-going suspension of Russian teams and clubs from UEFA competitions.
The on-going suspension of Russian teams and clubs also impacts other competitions, including the Nations League, Under-21 EURO, Women's World Cup qualifying, youth and futsal tournaments.

The latest sanctions add to the long list already imposed on Russia and its people.
FIFA and UEFA moved to immediately suspend Russian national teams and clubs when the war began in February.
There are no reports of when or if Russia will re-enter the global sporting realm.
