Oil giant tackles climate change using wind farm tech

Oil giant, BP is preparing to bid for the rights to build wind farms off Scotland in a fight against climate change.

The CEO of BP says the oil giant was looking at bidding in the forthcoming Crown Estate Scotland auction to lease the seabed off Scotland for offshore wind projects.

ScotWind offers 17 areas spanning 8600 square kilometres of seabed.

Bids for the Scot-Wind process are yet to be finalised with a deadline of July 16 according to The Times.

This change comes as global players become more aware of climate change, committing to action in the wake of the recent Virtual Leaders’ Summit on Climate
