Tesla now supports automation with Apple

Published

on

Tesla has rolled out an exciting feature in its latest app update, allowing iPhone users to leverage Siri to activate Apple Shortcuts automations without the need for third-party applications.

Version 4.24.0 of the Tesla app introduces this functionality with a release note that reads, “Access your vehicle controls and climate from the Apple Shortcuts app.”

With this enhancement, Tesla owners can now use Siri to execute specific automations. To utilize Siri with Shortcuts, users simply need to invoke Apple’s digital assistant and vocalize the name of the desired automation. While it may not offer the seamless Siri integration some users were hoping for, as it necessitates remembering the exact names of assigned automations, it represents a significant step forward in enhancing Tesla’s app capabilities.

Simple experience

This update not only simplifies the user experience but also expands the range of controls accessible through Siri and Shortcuts. Users can reportedly manage various modes, including Dog Mode and Bioweapon Defense Mode, along with functions such as closing all windows, adjusting media volume, opening the frunk (front trunk), and setting charge limits.

The integration of Siri and Apple Shortcuts aligns with Tesla’s commitment to innovating its software ecosystem and providing a more seamless and convenient experience for its users.

While this update represents a significant enhancement, Tesla enthusiasts may anticipate further refinements and features in future app updates as the company continues to push the boundaries of automotive technology and connectivity.
