The Queen has been seen at a family event, in good spirits after an absence of royal duties

After weeks of uncertainty regarding the Queen’s health, the monarch was seen attending a double-christening of two of her great grandchildren.

Queen Elizabeth travelled to Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park for the baptism, which was a private service attended by royal family members and close friends.

Both mothers of the boys that were christened are granddaughters of the Queen.

The event comes as a pleasant surprise after the monarch was unable to attend several recent public appearances due to doctor’s advice.

Next year the Queen is set to celebrate her platinum jubilee which marks 70 years on the throne.
