New York City first responders were attempting to control a Christmas tree fire outside the Fox News building in midtown Manhattan early Wednesday morning, with onlookers watching from the sidewalk.

Videos posted to social media by witnesses showed thick clouds of black smoke coming from the tree.

Police say someone allegedly lit the tree on fire which is located on West 48th Street and 6th Avenue.

Reports by NBC News state an employee witnessed NYPD officers apprehending a suspect near the tree after midnight.

A police department spokesperson confirmed a man was in custody but investigators couldn’t confirm an incendiary device used.

Notable companies to consider for exposure include BlueScope and James Hardie Industries for building materials, Macquarie Technology and Goodman Group for data centres, and Worley, AGL Energy, and Origin Energy for electricity grid upgrades and green infrastructure.

However, Eisman cautions investors to approach utility investments carefully, considering their capital expenditure budgets in renewable energy and grid upgrades.
