It seems like it’s out of a movie…but three people have been killed following a brazen bank robbery in the southern part of Brazil, as thieves strapped their hostages to the top of their getaway vehicles

Hostages were forced to walk down the road at gun point

Officials believe more than 20 people were involved in the high-profile heist… with the suspects blocking off roads with burning vehicles and planting explosives across the city.

This heist is the latest in a string of robberies throughout the region… with hostages often used as human shields.

A woman and a suspect were killed during a stand-off with police, whilst a 25-year old cyclist was also seriously injured after coming into contact with one of the pre-planted explosive devices.

Authorities believe there are still around 14 bombs planted across the city… with schools forced to shut and residents advised to stay indoors until all of the explosives have been found and detonated.

It’s not yet clear how much money the robbers took… but videos online seem to show residents gathering banknotes left behind in the street.

Three suspects have also been arrested so far.
