A man has died after a suspected kangaroo attack in Australia

Police were forced to put down a kangaroo, which reportedly attacked a 77-year-old male in Australia.

It’s understood the man was keeping the kangaroo as a pet at his property in Redmond, Western Australia when it attacked him at the weekend.

Authorities were called after a family member found the man with serious injuries.

They killed the animal to allow paramedics to enter in a safe manner. However, the man died a short time later.

Australia hasn’t recorded a death caused by a kangaroo since 1936.
