Fears grow for survivors in Nepal air crash

Fourteen bodies have been recovered from the wreckage of a plane that crashed in Nepal

Search and rescue efforts continue on a mountainside in Nepal, as fears grow the flight’s passengers.

Bad weather hampered the recovery operation, which is 4,000 metres above sea level.

The aircraft believed to be involved in the incident, pictured in 2017.

The Tara Air twin otter went missing in the Himalayas with 22 people on board around 9:55am local time on Sunday.

“There is very little chance to find survivors.”

Air traffic controllers lost contact with the jet’s pilots after 15 minutes.

The Twin Otter was travelling to Sanosware after taking off from a resort town located 200 kilometres west of Kathmandu.

Nepal has a record of air accidents because of its challenging weather mountainous areas.
