Avalanche sweeps up snowboarder in Utah

An avalanche has swept a snowboarder down a mountain in Utah.

 
Blake Nielson from Salt Lake City was suddenly knocked off his feet, and footage shows him sliding down the mountain.

The rush of heavy snow carried him down for approximately 300 feet.

But he was able to take control and come to a stop while the slope continued to slide.

He has a warning for all snowboarders and he says “respect the wind” because that was more unpredictable than the snow itself.
