Three children among victims of mall shooting in Texas as attacker’s motives are investigated

A three-year-old boy and his parents, two elementary school children and a young engineer have been named as the victims of a mass shooting at a mall in Texas.

Eight were killed in the shooting, with several victims still in hospital.

Investigators are now reviewing social media to look into the killer’s beliefs.

During the attack, the rifle-wielding individual was wearing an insignia.

This symbol is associated with both hate groups and combat tactical gear.

He was wearing a clothing patch with the letters R-W-D-S, which stands for “Right Wing Death Squad”.

This is a phrase popular among right-wing extremists and white supremacy groups.

According to the U.S. defence department, the suspect entered the Army in June 2008 and was “terminated three months later without completing initial entry training” due to “physical or mental conditions”.

“Mental health didn’t fire that gun. Those people were killed with bullets,” Texas mall shooting witness Steven Spainhouer told NBC News.
