Medibank hacker releases sample of user data in cyber attack

The Medibank hacker has released a sample of the user data obtained in the cyber attack.

At 2am local time, the hacker began posting some details including phone numbers and Medicare numbers to a dark web forum.

The hacker had threatened the data would be released in 24 hours.

The purported hacker updated their earlier dark web post, which had meme featuring Super Mario characters.

It’s not known yet how much data the hackers are willing to release or if they are making additional ransom demands of Medibank in the meantime.
