Teenager Mack Rutherford is officially the youngest person to fly solo around the world

After taking off on March 23, the 17-year-old flew around the globe in a small aircraft, cruising at 300km per hour.

He left from Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, and landed back at the same spot safe and sound.

Spanning across 52 countries, the youngster has cemented his name in the Guinness World Records, taking over his sisters record.

But the British-Belgian national is no stranger to world records, previously becoming the youngest pilot in the world at just 15.

Long-awaited first crewed test flight of the new Starliner space capsule was called off over a technical issue that launch teams could not resolve in time.
