One Scottish footballer says any sympathy for Ukraine will have to be put to one side for Wednesday’s World Cup playoff at Hampden Park

Midfielder Callum McGregor says he understands the situation but his team should remain focussed on the win.

Ukraine’s squad of 21 has been forced to train in Slovenia.

The winners of the clash will face Wales on Sunday with a place in the Qatar tournament on the line.

Scotland have not qualified for the World Cup since 1998 and McGregor says the motivation is huge.
