Canada is seeking to stop the import, buying and selling handguns

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is introducing legislation to cap the number of handguns in the country.

Canada already has plans to ban 1,500 types of military-style firearms and offer a mandatory buyback program, which will begin at the end of the year.

There are also plans to remove gun licenses from people involved in acts of domestic violence or criminal harassment.

“It will no longer be possible to buy, sell, transfer or import handguns anywhere in Canada.”
