Could Russia cut off gas to Finland?

Local media in Finland is reporting that politicians have been warned Russia could stop gas supplies to the country within days

This comes as Russia warns Finland of ‘consequences’ if it joins NATO.

The Nordic country is moving ahead with plans to join the alliance, with a decision expected in the coming days.

Finland’s bid is receiving support from the leaders of Germany and France.

The country shares an 800-mile border with Russia and has voiced security concerns, alongside Sweden, since the invasion of Ukraine took place.

But the Kremlin says the move would be a threat to Russia and is warning of possible retaliation.
