Countries urge their citizens to leave Moldovan breakaway state Transnistria

There are reports that the a number of countries have called on their citizens to immediately leave or not to visit Transnistria

Among these are the United States, Canada, Bulgaria, France, Israel, Great Britain and Germany.

This comes only a day after the region experienced a series of explosions .

The pro-Russian breakaway territory of Moldova currently hosts a number of Russian troops with fears rising that they may invade Ukraine from the West.

Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister says the country is facing “a very dangerous new moment” amid tensions rising in Transnistria.

The region proclaimed independence from Moldova 3 decades ago but is not internationally recognised.
