Rafael Nadal has confirmed he is back in training following a rib injury that forced him to skip the Monte Carlo and Barcelona tournaments.

There were concerns the tennis champion wouldn’t make the French Open following the severity of a stress fracture to his rib.

The injury forced Nadal to take four weeks away from the court, but the tennis star is back, with his eyes firmly set on the French Open.

The 35-year-old will compete for his 14th title in France, kicking off on May 22.

The Spaniard shocked fans when he announced he had to skip the key Barcelona Tournament.

He last played in the final of Indian Wells against Taylor Fritz on March 22, suffering a straight-set defeat.
