The next Cold War? Beijing official calls Australian politicians ‘real troublemakers’

China has once again criticised Australia’s politicians over comments that “instigate confrontation.”

During a press conference, China’s Military spokesperson, Zhao Lijian labeled Australian politicians as “real troublemakers”.

He warns that Australia is a country that has long benefited from cooperating with China and it is “unethical” for the nation to hype a false “China threat theory”.

“As a country that has long benefited from cooperation with China, it is unethical for Australia to hype a ‘China threat’ theory, nor is the allegation consistent with facts.”

China says Australia will end up hurting itself, but that may have already happened – with several of the country’s industries now impacted by trade bans and large tariffs.

Lijian advised politicians to “abandon a Cold War mentality, refrain from making irresponsible remarks and do more to benefit regional peace and stability”
