U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit the U.S. on Friday to sign a significant deal regarding rare earth minerals.

During a Cabinet meeting, Trump described the agreement as a major progress on rare earth and additional matters.

He highlighted the U.S. contribution to Ukraine compared to Europe, urging European nations to increase their support.

Trump indicated that while he would not offer extensive security guarantees for Ukraine, the partnership on rare earth minerals would inherently provide a level of security.

Ukrainian officials stated that the deal would grant U.S. access to Ukraine’s rare earth deposits and include a joint investment fund for reconstruction.

Zelenskyy referred to the deal as a framework agreement, which would entail Ukraine contributing 50% of revenue from its natural resources to the fund, aimed at reconstruction projects.
