Will Smith slaps Chris Rock at the Oscars

Chris Rock and Will Smith have had an altercation during the 2022 Oscars

Rock appeared on stage to present the award for documentary feature and made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith being in “G.I. Jane” because of her shaved head.

Smith then took the stage and slapped Rock in the face, before then walking away to take his seat.

Although it appeared to be a joke at first, Smith returned to his seat and yelled “Keep my wife’s name out of your f***ing mouth.”

Many in the audience appeared stunned at the altercation.

P Diddy was the next presenter during the ceremony, where he appeared to introduce the 50th anniversary celebration to “The Godfather.”

Diddy addressed the situation by saying, “we’re going to solve that like family. Right now we’re moving on with love”

What happened when the camera’s stooped rolling?

During the commercial break, Chris reportedly shed a tear as he went to sit down. There was plenty of movement on the stage as officials tried to cool the situation.

Many have speculated that the drama was scripted – but those in the venue say this certainly wasn’t the case, and the incident was a “surprise”
