Washington warns Beijing as Wang Yi travels to Moscow

Relations between Washington and Beijing plummet and now Moscow has swooped in

As Joe Biden arrived in Kyiv, China’s top foreign diplomat was on his way to Moscow to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Wang Yi is Xi Jinping’s top foreign policy adviser and his visit to Russia follows an eight-day tour through Europe.

The tour demonstrates China’s ongoing diplomatic balancing act as it juggles the interests of the Kremlin and the West.

But while relations between Washington and Beijing plummet, it’s quite the opposite when it comes to Moscow.

China and Russia are closer than ever and this has raised alarms in Western capitals.

Particularly, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is concerned Beijing is on the brink of providing deadly military assistance to Russia to aid in its war against Ukraine.
