Tyre blowout that crushed this F1 driver’s second consecutive victory

Max Verstappen was a front runner towards his second consecutive victory until an unexpected tire failure crushed his chances.

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix turned into a shock victory for Sergio Pérez.

Championship leader Verstappen crashed out of the lead with four laps remaining, take a look at the blow.

F1 favourite Lewis Hamilton went off course trying to pass Pérez for the lead, marking the first time since 2016 that the top two in the championship failed to score point.

In an unfamiliar sight, Pérez, Sebastian Vettel and Pierre Gasly all finished in the top three on the podium, for the first time this year.
