The 2300-deployee figure is significantly higher than previous Australian reports indicated.

The Australian government maintains that Submarine Rotational Force West will not become a U.S. base on Australian soil.

Experts note that the U.S. Navy treats Naval Support Activities like military bases despite Australian claims.

Following the establishment of NSA Stirling, the U.S. Navy also announced the reactivation of Submarine Squadron 3 at the same location.

Commanders have articulated that NSA Stirling enhances the readiness of the Submarine Rotational Force.

Though Australian officials insist HMAS Stirling remains a sovereign base, critics suggest this is more for optics than substance.

The establishment of facilities for U.S. personnel continues amid discussions of future nuclear submarine plans from the U.S. to Australia.

Contract details emerge

The Australian government is also set to purchase missiles from Lockheed Martin for the RAAF worth approximately $736 million.

Discussions about housing and community integration for U.S. personnel are ongoing.

A new parliamentary defence committee inquiry will assess Australia’s preparedness for potential conflicts.

Officials highlight this inquiry as necessary for contemporary defence strategy.

Military collaborations are evolving as Australia seeks to enhance its defence capabilities.
