Tensions in space are escalating as the United States says that Russia has launched a counter space weapon into orbit, potentially threatening U.S. satellites.

The Pentagon spokesman recently confirmed the launch occurred on May 16th and emphasized the potential risks posed by the development.

Russian officials, however, have dismissed these claims as an information leak, stating their space program continues as planned.
