U.S. President Joe Biden set to visit families in Texas following mass school shooting

United States President Joe Biden will travel to Texas with his wife, Jill, in the wake of the deadly mass shooting incident

President Biden plans to meet with the families mourning the loss of their loved ones after a gunman opened fire at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde.

The President was noticeably frustrated saying ‘when in God’s name’ will his nation’s lawmakers will do what must be done to reduce the amount of carnage in America.

The President also admits “common sense” gun reform won’t “prevent every tragedy,” he believes it will still “have significant impact”.

“Jill and I will be traveling to Texas in the coming days to meet with the families and let them know we have a sense of their pain, and hopefully bring some little comfort to a community in shock, in grief and in trauma,”

“And we must ask: When in God’s name will we do what needs to be done to, if not completely stop, fundamentally change the amount of the carnage that goes on in this country?”

“The idea an 18-year-old can buy weapons of war designed and marketed to kill is, I think, just wrong. It just violates common sense,”

This comes as America remains divided about gun reforms in the future. Biden will move to do everything in his power to make a change under democratic rule.

This recent tragedy has left 21 dead and 17 others injured, making it the deadliest school shooting in almost a decade.
