A Trump organisation executive has been sentenced to five months in prison

Allen Weisselberg, who is former U.S. President Donald Trump’s long-time chief financial officer, has been sentenced to five months behind bars.

A New York judge sentenced Mr Weisselberg for his role in a decade-long tax fraud scheme .

He admitted he should have paid taxes on off-the-books compensation. He will cough up $2 million back in taxes as part of his sentence.

The 75-year-old is expected to report to Rikers Island, which is one of the most notorious New York City jails.

He will begin serving his sentence immediately.
