Just a week after Apple unveiled its own service… Spotify has come out with its own podcast subscription platform
Spotify is the world’s most popular paid music streaming service… so it comes at no surpise.
Soon in the US.. podcasters can mark their episodes as subscriber-only.
Podcasters won’t have to pay Spotify anything for the first two years.
But creators have to cover the cost of transaction fees.
Spotify will take a 5 percent cut after two years time. that’s significantly less than Apple who will take 15 to 30 percent.
It plans to expand this feature around the world in coming months.
