Meta reveals new virtual reality development

Virtual reality might not be as far into the future as you think

Meta announced earlier this year that it’ll spend over 10 billion dollars on virtual reality and augmented technologies.

This includes computerised glasses or headsets that the company’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed on social media.

The new technology would aim to create a metaverse, superimposing digital objects over the real world.

If the company succeeds it will have a new revenue stream of hardware sales.

The virtual reality market is not currently saturated, with Meta leading headset sales.
