Darren Woolley warns free-to-air TV faces same disruption as department stores amid audience shift to niche media and fragmented news

Woolley says the shift is also fragmenting the news landscape, with audiences receiving the same stories from increasingly different perspectives.

He warns this could weaken the shared understanding of current events that traditional media has historically provided.
