Logan Paul’s Prime energy drink yanked from shelves

Published

on

New York grocery chain Gristedes and D’Agostino, led by CEO John Catsimatidis, have decided to stop stocking Logan Paul’s energy drink, Prime Energy, while the FDA investigates its health impacts.

The move comes after concerns were raised about the drink’s high caffeine content, containing 200 milligrams of caffeine, more than double the amount in a Red Bull and six times that of a can of Coca-Cola.

Senator Chuck Schumer had previously expressed worries about the drink’s safety and sent a letter to the FDA Commissioner requesting an investigation into its potential dangers.

Prime’s rise

The beverage, co-founded by YouTube star Logan Paul and KSI, has gained popularity through social media and influencer marketing.

The company behind Prime Energy stated that the drink is not intended for those under 18 and claimed compliance with FDA guidelines.

Despite this, Catsimatidis has opted to prioritize customer concerns and will no longer stock the energy drink until further notice.

The FDA’s probe will shed light on the drink’s safety, and the situation will continue to be monitored closely by both regulators and the public.
