Side hustles are a way for people to earn extra money aside from their regular income.

Record-high inflation, dwindling pandemic-era savings and tax credits, along with the ever-rising cost of living are breaking the bank for so many Americans.

Now, people are doubling up on work at an astounding rate, saying they simply need the extra wages to make ends meet.

According to a new Bankrate survey, nearly two in five of U.S. adults have a side hustle.
