Judge considers protective order after claims Trump post promises revenge

Published

on

The U.S. Department of Justice has asked a federal judge presiding over the criminal case against former President Donald Trump in Washington D.C. to step in after Trump released a post online

The government agency says the post appears to promise revenge on anyone who goes after him.

Trump has pleaded not guilty to charges of trying to overturn his 2020 election loss and block the peaceful transition of power.

The protective order is different from a “gag order,” which would limit what information Trump and his legal team could share publicly about the case brought by special counsel Jack Smith.

Following his third indictment, Trump hit the campaign trail telling supporters in Alabama that his legal battles are helping him politically and will not hinder his 2024. #trump #donaldtrump #2024election
