Guided Russian bomb hits blood transfusion centre

Published

on

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy reported that a blood transfusion center in the town of Kupiansk, located in the eastern Kharkiv region, was hit by a Russian guided aerial bomb.

The incident occurred late on Saturday, resulting in casualties among both the dead and wounded. Zelenskiy made this announcement through his Telegram channel, but Reuters could not immediately verify the details of the incident.

Kupiansk is a railway hub situated less than 10 miles from the front lines of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

In response to the attack, rescue workers were on the scene to extinguish the fire and provide aid to the affected individuals. Zelenskiy condemned the bombing as a “war crime,” though he did not disclose the specific number of casualties.

Meanwhile, Russia has denied any deliberate targeting of civilians in the context of the full-scale invasion, which has already caused extensive loss of life, displaced millions of people, and left cities in ruins.

The situation remains highly sensitive and evolving, with international attention focused on the ongoing conflict and its humanitarian impact.
