People who are not double-dosed will face new restrictions and lockdown in Upper Austria

Lockdowns will become the new norm for some of the unvaccinated within Austria.

From Monday, the Upper Austria province will implement restrictions once it receives approval from the federal government.

This comes as Austria reports a record number of covid-19 infections.

The Chancellor says national lockdowns for the unvaccinated is “probably inevitable”.

This allows two-thirds of the population to continue to live normally despite the third that remain vaccine hesitant.

1.5 milllion people reside in the Northern part of Austria which has the nation’s highest level of infection and the lowest vaccination rate.

In the past day, Austria has recorded nearly 12,000 covid cases with the country’s coronavirus commission warning of a threat that “must be taken seriously”.

TikTok users could soon find that the popular social media service is either under new ownership or could be outright banned in the U.S.
