Australia wins maiden men’s T20 World Cup

For the first time, Australia has been crowned as mens T20 World Cup champions

The winners defeated New Zealand by eight wickets at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Australia reached its 173-run target with players David Warner and Mitchell Marsh scoring half centuries – reaching 50 runs in an inning.

Meanwhile, New Zealand’s cricketer, Kane Williiamson broke a record, scoring 85 off 48 balls, the highest individual score in a T20 World Cup final.

Australia’s Mitchell Starc was named Player of the Match despite achieving the worst bowling performance by an Australian in a T20 international.

But Marsh was celebrated for his massive contribution to the team’s success, finishing unbeaten on a run chase of 77.
