Australia set to receive nuclear-capable aircraft amid China tensions

Australia is preparing to welcome six nuclear-capable aircraft from the United States

Australia will receive the B-52 bombers that will be stationed in the northern territory in a move believed to be aimed at China.

It’s part of an upgrade of defence assets across the country, according to the ABC.

The jets have been part of the U.S. Air Force for over six decades.

They’re able to deliver long-range strikes of a range of weapons.

The U.S. is reportedly seeking to build even more facilities in Australia, including a revamp of the existing Pine Gap intelligence base.
