Movie fanatics are eagerly anticipating the upcoming releases of 2024 across cinemas, Netflix, and Prime Video.

Here are the most highly-anticipated titles.

NoDepositFriend.com has determined the most anticipated movies by analyzing the number of times a movie appears in Letterboxd’s Watchlist feature.

  1. Dune: Part Two

The most anticipated movie of 2024 is Dune: Part Two, which has been added to a whopping 21,153 watchlists on Letterboxd. Directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, and Florence Pugh, this sci-fi adaptation will be showcased in cinemas from March 1st. Fans are clearly excited about this sequel, which has been promised by Villeneuve to be more action-packed than its predecessor.

  1. Deadpool 3

Coming in at second place is Deadpool 3, with 12,122 Watchlist adds. This is currently the only Marvel Cinematic Universe movie that has been announced for release in 2024. Directed by Shawn Levy, the film stars Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and Jennifer Garner, and promises to deliver plenty of laughter and superhero action. You can catch Deadpool 3 in cinemas starting from July 26th.

  1. Nosferatu

In the third position, we have Nosferatu with 11,340 Watchlist adds by film fans, and it is set to release on Christmas Day in 2024. This movie is directed by Robert Eggers and stars Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, and Lily-Rose Depp. The original Nosferatu was an unauthorized adaptation of Dracula, which has made the fans excited and intrigued about this upcoming release.

  1. Joker: Folie À Deux

Next, in fourth place, is Joker: Folie À Deux, which has been added into 10,004 Watchlist ahead of its release date on October 4th. Todd Phillips is directing this follow-up, with Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, and Lady Gaga starring. Lady Gaga is reinterpreting Harley Quinn in this different universe from Margot Robbie in Birds of Prey. 

  1. Mickey 17

Coming in fifth place is “Mickey 17” with 9,382 watchlist adds among movie enthusiasts. Directed by Bong Joon-ho and starring Robert Pattinson, Mark Ruffalo, and Toni Collette, this movie is set to release on March 29th in theaters. The film follows the character Mickey Barnes, who possesses the unique ability to regenerate after death.

  1. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

The sixth most anticipated movie for 2024 is Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, with 8,802 Watchlist adds for its release on May 24th in cinemas. George Miller is this spinoff’s director, with Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, and Nathan Jones starring. Fans are clearly excited for more post-apocalyptic adventures from road warrior Mad Max. 

  1. Challengers

Closely following in seventh place is Challengers, with 8,802 adds to movie lovers’ Watchlist ahead of its cinema release on April 26th. Directed by Luca Guadagnino and starring Zendaya, Mike Faist, and Josh O’Connor, the movie follows a love triangle of professional tennis players. 

  1. MaXXXine

MaXXXine is next in eighth position, with 8,608 ‘Watchlist adds’ on Letterboxd, but its Netflix release is yet to be announced. Ti West is this trilogy capper’s director and the movie stars Mia Goth, Michelle Monaghan, and Elizabeth Debicki. The film follows Maxine pursuing her dream of stardom. 

  1. Hit Man

In ninth place is Hit Man – another Netflix release with a to-be-announced release date – with 8,118 Watchlist adds. With Richard Linklater as its director and Glen Powell, Adria Arjona, and Retta starring, this comic thriller rom-com is highly anticipated among movie fanatics. It follows an undercover Houston police officer posing as a reliable hitman. 

  1. Kraven the Hunter

Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Kraven the Hunter, which has been added to 6,293 Watchlists. Directed by J.C. Chandor and starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Russell Crowe, and Ariana DeBose, this dark superhero film is set to hit cinemas on August 30th, 2024.

All other Australians have been urged to leave while commercial flights and other travel options are still available. Authorities are emphasising the importance of acting quickly before options become limited.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has warned that the security situation in the Middle East remains unpredictable and volatile.

The Qantas Group reported a record half-year profit of $1.46 billion for the first half of the 2026 financial year, an increase of $71 million compared to the previous period. The airline plans to create 8,500 jobs by 2030 and re-establish a cabin crew base in Singapore, along with new initiatives for frequent flyers.Statutory profit after tax rose to $925 million, allowing shareholders to receive a fully franked dividend of 19.8 cents per share.

The current underlying profit surpasses the record set in 2023 under former CEO Alan Joyce. Chief executive Vanessa Hudson highlighted a commitment to customer, employee, and shareholder satisfaction while emphasizing ongoing investments in fleet renewal.

As Qantas adds new aircraft to its fleet, it anticipates the creation of jobs, including 3,500 additional cabin crew and 1,000 pilots.

A new Jetstar cabin crew base will open in Perth later this year, generating 90 roles, while Singapore is expected to accommodate 400 cabin crew members.

Frequent Flyer Changes

Qantas will implement significant changes to its Frequent Flyer program. Members can now earn status credits on the ground through credit cards and program partners.

They will also have the option to rollover up to 50% of excess status credits from one year to the next.

Hudson stated the overhaul aims to enhance flexibility and recognition for members amid a changing loyalty landscape.
