Will Meghan Markle ever return to the UK?

Published

on

Prince Harry is set to return to the UK for the annual WellChild Awards in London, just ahead of the first anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s passing.

However, insiders suggest that Harry has no intentions of spending time with his family during this visit. Instead, he plans to attend the awards and then head to Dusseldorf for the Invictus Games, an event he co-founded in 2014 for wounded veterans.

What’s noteworthy is that Meghan Markle, his wife, has decided not to accompany him on the London leg of his trip. This decision has raised eyebrows and led to speculation about Meghan’s intentions.

This isn’t the first time Harry has visited the UK without Meghan; he was there for Charles’ coronation in May and for his lawsuit against The Sun the following month. However, some critics in the UK are taking Meghan’s absence personally and view it as a sign of disrespect.

Clear message

Some pundits have even suggested that Meghan’s choice to avoid the UK altogether sends a clear message that she may never set foot on British soil again. Columnist Jan Moir wrote in the Daily Mail that Meghan’s message couldn’t be clearer: she has no intention of returning to the UK, and this decision may have been influenced by not being allowed to attend the Queen’s deathbed at Balmoral.

Moir’s commentary reflects a sentiment held by some in the UK who enjoy poking fun at Meghan’s image as a Californian bohemian, even though there is no indication that Meghan is interested in topics like chakras or astrology. Critics often hurl insults at Meghan without being witty or coherent, and their comments tend to be needlessly spiteful.

Many of these critics believe that Meghan is the primary cause of the rift between Harry and his family and that she has the power to mend it but chooses not to.

However, an insider close to the situation has a different perspective. According to OK! magazine, Harry aims to play the role of peacemaker and defuse the situation with his family before Meghan becomes involved in the complexities of Buckingham Palace. Talks have been ongoing to facilitate a meeting between Harry and his father, Prince Charles, but it hasn’t been the right time until now. Both Charles and Harry are working toward a meeting on September 17.

System Failure

South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas criticised Optus for their incompetence in handling the situation.

Israel’s new “Iron Beam” laser defense system to deploy by year-end, promising cost-effective missile interception.

Israel’s Defence Ministry says its new “Iron Beam” laser system will be deployed by year’s end. The technology is designed to destroy incoming missiles, rockets, drones and mortars with precision.

Developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems in partnership with Elbit Systems, Iron Beam will sit alongside existing defences such as Iron Dome, David’s Sling and Arrow. Unlike traditional interceptors which can cost tens of thousands of dollars per shot, the laser comes at negligible expense.

Officials call it the world’s first high-power laser interception system to achieve operational maturity, hailing it as a game-changer for modern warfare. Military leaders expect the system to reshape air defence capabilities and cut costs dramatically.

Stephen Colbert condemns censorship and calls out Trump in powerful monologue dedicated to Jimmy Kimmel’s suspended show.

Stephen Colbert’s opening monologue is being hailed as one of the most powerful moments in modern late-night history. Standing on stage at the Ed Sullivan Theatre, Colbert dedicated his show to Jimmy Kimmel and his team after ABC suspended Kimmel’s programme under pressure from Washington.

Colbert called the move “blatant censorship” and directly accused President Trump of acting like an autocrat. “With an autocrat, you cannot give an inch,” he warned, making clear that the stakes reach far beyond late-night comedy.
