U.S. special counsel meets with Trump lawyers as indictment looms

Justice Department officials investigating Donald Trump, met with the Republican former president’s attorneys.

 
Trump said he is the target of a Special Counsel investigation for alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election.

On his Truth Social platform, Trump said the DOJ has not told his attorneys when any action is likely.

“My attorneys had a productive meeting with the DOJ this morning, explaining in detail that I did nothing wrong, was advised by many lawyers, and that an indictment of me would only further destroy our Country,” Trump said.

“No indication of notice was given during the meeting.”
