The segment part of the BBC’s Platinum Jubilee is now an award-winning moment

Remember the iconic scene from the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee last year between Her Majesty and Paddington Bear sharing a marmalade moment?

Paddington Bear’s unexpected tea with the late Queen during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations last year was so memorable in the UK its won the Memorable Moment gong at the BAFTA TV Awards.

The segment was part of the BBC’s Platinum Jubilee: Party in the Palace coverage, which marked the 70th anniversary of the Queen’s reign on the throne.

The moment beat the finale of Channel 4 comedy Derry Girls and Max’s rescue in Stranger Things from demonic villain Vecna.

Collecting the award, Paddington franchise actor Simon Farnaby says “The moment was a farewell because the Queen is no longer here”.
