The drone flight has been seen as an attempt to assassinate Russian President Vladimir Putin

The United States has denied Russian claims it was behind the alleged drone attack on the Kremlin.

The drone flight has been seen as an attempt to assassinate Russian President Vladimir Putin.

A Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, says the U.S. was “undoubtedly” behind the alleged attack, without providing evidence.

“Decisions on such attacks are not made in Kyiv, but in Washington,” Mr Peskov said.

Ukraine has made claims it had nothing to do with the alleged attack, while National Security Co-Ordinator John Kirby has called it a ‘ludicrous claim’.

“The United States has nothing to do with it. We don’t even know exactly what happened here, but I can assure you the United States had no role in it whatsoever.”

This all comes on the back of Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky appearing at The Hague, calling for Putin to be put on trial.

“We all want to see a different Vladimir here in the Hague, the one who deserves to be sanctioned for his criminal actions here, in the capital of international law,” Zelensky said in a speech, referring to Putin.
