Chinese acrobat death sparks in-depth investigation

There are now calls for better safety and government supervision of the industry.

A Chinese acrobat has died after falling to her death during a performance in China.

Local authorities in China will now conduct an in-depth investigation.

The incident has stirred broad public concern over the safety of acrobats.

There are now calls for better safety and government supervision of the industry.

A manager from the performance company says the couple had a fight on the night of the accident and the performer did not buckle her safety belt.

But this claim is being refuted by her husband, who says they were not in a dispute before the accident and they had a good relationship.

Industry experts have since pointed out that a safety net should have been set up.

An eyewitness told media that there was no safety cushion on the stage and it was difficult for the ambulance to arrive at the venue due to narrow roadways.

All crew and company plus the partners involved in the incident will be investigated.

If the accident was caused by the acrobat’s failure to take protective measures, the acrobat will cop the main responsibility.

This means the performance company will bear secondary responsibility.
