The United Kingdom will join 11 other countries in the pact

Britain has agreed to join the Trans-Pacific free trade pact.

The U.K. will now join 11 other countries in the CPTPP.

It’s a major Asia Pacific trade partnership and the U.K.’s biggest post-Brexit trade deal following nearly two years of talks.

The U.K. is seeking to build ties around the world after leaving the European Union.

Britain will become the 12th member of the agreement and is the first European country in the bloc.

According to the U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s office, countries part of the pact will have a combined GDP of over $13 trillion once Britain joins.
