Joe Biden says upcoming budget will include higher taxes, aimed at America’s wealthiest residents

Joe Biden says his March 9 budget proposal to the U.S. Congress will include some higher taxes, as the president targets the nation’s billionaires.

Speaking in Virginia, Biden confirmed he won’t violate his pledge not to raise rates on those Americans making less than $400,000 a year.

This was one of Biden’s key 2020 campaign pledges.

Meanwhile, the White House is facing pressure from the other side of the aisle – as Republicans threaten to not raise the debt limit unless the president agrees to sharp spending cuts.

Biden is vowing to slash the deficit by $2 trillion over 10 years in this upcoming budget proposal.

He is also challenging Republicans to release their own proposals and to negotiate over this, rather than over whether the country should raise the debt ceiling and pay its existing bills. #trending #featured
