6.2 magnitude earthquake rocks Sumatra

A 6.2 magnitude earthquake has rocked the coast of Sumatra, Indonesia.

The earthquake was at a depth of 80 kilometres, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre revealed.

This is on the back of the country raising its alert, as increased volcanic activity has been reported over the past week.

No tsunami alert has been issued.
