Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has been involved in a traffic accident

The crash happened in the capital of Kyiv and the leader has not been seriously hurt.

Zelensky’s car and his escort vehicles reportedly collided with a private vehicle.

“The president was examined by a doctor, no serious injuries were found,” the President’s press team said.

Zelensky was returning from Kharkiv, where he said “almost the entire region is de-occupied”.

“It was an unprecedented movement of our soldiers—the Ukrainians once again managed to do what many thought was impossible,” he said in his nightly address.

The traffic accident will be investigated by authorities.
